Agronomy Intern (Iowa/western location)

Ready to bridge the gap between your classroom learning and real-world experience? The Integrated Ag Solutions summer internship offers students a valuable opportunity to engage with the agronomy industry and develop skills that will enhance your future career.

Primary Objectives of the Position:

Gain an understanding of the agronomy industry through hands-on learning experiences and applying skills learned in the classroom in the field.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Hands-on experience in key agronomy practices, including plant, tissue, soil and sap sampling.
  • Field scouting and soil sampling to understand crop health and management.
  • Involvement in Integrated Ag, Calibrated Agronomy, and XtremeAg research trials, contributing to meaningful projects.
  • Customer service experience while supporting local growers.
  • Networking opportunities through participation in summer events with Calibrated Agronomy & XtremeAg.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in agriculture, agronomy, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and proficient computer skills.
  • A strong desire to learn and stay informed about agricultural trends.
  • Previous experience or background in agriculture is a plus.

Additional Details:

  • This is a paid internship (competitive rate will be discussed during interviews)
  • Must be in good physical condition, capable of lifting, carrying and pushing weights up to 50 pounds and have full use of both arms and legs and both hands.
  • Will work mainly in an outdoor environment in various weather conditions.
  • Pre-employment screening required  
  • Must be located near or willing to relocate/commute to Dow City for the duration of the internship. Integrated Ag Solutions can help with relocation efforts such as temporary housing.

Primary Objectives of the Position:

Gain an understanding of the agronomy industry through hands-on learning experiences and applying skills learned in the classroom in the field.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Hands-on experience in key agronomy practices, including plant, tissue, soil and sap sampling.
  • Exposure to manufacturing operations within an agricultural setting.
  • Involvement in Bio Ag Management and Calibrated Agronomy research trials, contributing to meaningful, data driven projects.
  • Customer service experience while supporting local growers.
  • Potential networking opportunities through participation in summer events with Calibrated Agronomy.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in agriculture, agronomy, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and proficient computer skills.
  • A strong desire to learn and stay informed about agricultural trends.
  • Previous experience or background in agriculture is a plus.

Operations Intern (Iowa/western location)

Date: Summer 2026 (May – August)

Description:

Hands-On Experience in Ag Retail Operations
Leverage our team’s 40+ years of retail agronomy experience to get a jumpstart on your career after college. Gain practical experience with logistics, equipment, and product handling.

Primary Objectives of the Position:

  • Gain an understanding of ag retail operations and supply chain processes.
  • Build confidence working with equipment and inventory in a fast-paced environment.
  • Apply safety and compliance practices while supporting agronomy and chemical operations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Safely unload and load trucks, including operating a forklift and other equipment.
  • Haul fertilizer and chemical loads to and from fields and storage facilities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in both shop and outdoor settings.
  • Support the agronomy team with operational needs such as equipment prep and blending.
  • Provide customer service support when interacting with growers during deliveries or pickups.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Real-world experience in agricultural operations and logistics.
  • Hands-on training with equipment including forklifts, tenders, and sprayers.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance standards in chemical handling and fertilizer delivery.
  • Networking opportunities by working closely with Integrated Ag growers and industry partners.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in agriculture, ag systems technology, ag business, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL or willingness to pursue is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic with willingness to work outdoors and handle physical tasks.
